Spooky (Not Scary!) Halloween Décor: Toddler Approved
Toddlers break stuff on the daily, amirite? So when I am looking for Halloween décor, I look for sturdy, dependable decorations that aren’t going to rip or break if my toddler touches them.
I started looking for decorations that were cute but wouldn’t absolutely fall apart when my son inevitably knocks over/throws/drops said item.
My son is also scared of animatronics, and/or motion-sensing displays that emit scary cackling or creepy voices. Trying to taking him shopping through the holiday section ends in tears.
So when I wanted to decorate for Halloween, I knew I had my work cut out for me. I’ve been looking for the perfect combination of spooky-but-not-scary décor, and I’m so excited to share it with you!
Outdoor Decorations
Can we have a moment for that pre lit jack-o-lantern? It is 20 inches tall!
These hanging witches hats would be adorably spooking hanging from your front porch!
This stacked jack-o-lantern decoration is festive but it also breaks down when the season is over!. That means you don’t have to find room to store a giant decoration for eleven months out of the year!
Stacked Jack-o-lantern Decoration
This door hanger is so cute! It has bright colors that toddlers love, without scaring them!
Indoor Decor
Can we talk about these ghost paintings?!?! ADORABLE. And those ghost figurines are wooden, so they wont break when your kiddo inevitable wants to inspect them.
These iridescent bats are my favorite! They’ll catch the light and add a spooky touch without nightmares!
These flameless candles are perfect for giving off the spook-factor without risk of fire (or burning curious little fingers!).
How cute are these ghost pillows? I love that they allow for decorating, but the kiddos can’t break them!
What is your favorite Halloween décor item on this list? I’m torn between the iridescent bats and the hanging witch hats.
Are you ready to get spooky with your toddler this season? Halloween, here we come! You can also check out my post on Family Friendly Fall Activities to keep the festivities going!
So many cute ideas! I love the cute Halloween decor over scary any day! Thanks for all the great sources.
I love these ideas! Sometimes grown ups get caught up in the month and forgot that some little kiddos are scared of a few things. I love the flickering candles, I have them all over my house as it is, haha. Thank you for sharing!
Great ideas especially anything hanging so toddlers can look but not wreck.
